Online games require constant improvements, balancing and adjustments. This is especially true for live games, like Sea of Thieves. Recently, the game has been updated to allow more vessels on a given server, but after the players’ comments, rare has decided to call it back.
The change earlier this month allowed up to six different vessels and sixteen players per server. Although you can think that more ships can be more exciting, the result left a lot to be desired. After some quick calculations, having six ships and sixteen players on a server meant that each ship would have an average of 2.6 crew members.
Not only does this not practice the gameplay point of view, but it has ruined the performance of the gameplay. Of course, the PC and Xbox Series X | S could be able to handle more ships, but Sea of Thieves should also be functional on Xbox One.
To smooth things, rare brought the number of ships to a server from six to five. However, up to sixteen players can always join a server. This makes it possible to modify the average number of crew members per vessel and the different types of ships they can control.
Four years after its launch, Sea of Thieves always benefits from a respectable number of players. You can bet that rare will continue to add more content and support the game as they did. Sea of Thieves is available on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | s.
