The Atlanta Hawks (in English: Atlanta Hawks The Atlanta raptors ) are a professional basketball franchise of the National Basketball Association (NBA) based in Atlanta, Georgia. They are part of the East Conference and the Southeast Division. They dispute their home meetings at the State Farm Arena located in the center of Atlanta.
Founded in Moline, Illinois in 1946 under the name of Tri-Cities Blackhawks, this team is part of the National Basketball League (NBL) when it joins the National Basketball Association (NBA) in 1949. When moving to Milwaukee 1951, the franchise takes the name of Milwaukee Hawks. She moved to Saint Louis in 1955 where she won her only NBA Champion title in 1958. This team has been present in Atlanta since 1968.
The Hawks have no longer won the NBA title since 1958. This is the only franchise, with the Kings of Sacramento, to possess the longest period without title. All the participations of the Hawks in the NBA finals date from the time when the franchise was based in Saint Louis.
